1. You have a voice on the Internet that you can use however you want without sacrificing any (or very little) personal info. 2. You can write about whatever you want, whenever you want! 3. You can finally understand what all your blogging friends are talking about. 4. You've got a place to share your story--be it a book you wrote, an essay for school, or your very own life story. 5. It feels pretty cool to have your own website. 6. People who read your blog actually care about what's going on in your life!
GUYS. I was reading Wikipedia's list of phobias. I got to the 'N' section. What did I see? THERE IS A NAME FOR A FEAR OF BEING OUT OF MOBILE PHONE SERVICE. It's called 'nomophobia'. I have no idea where the 'nomo' part comes from. Who knew? Why do some people love their smartphones so much? Why is it that some people hate pickles?
For our Take Action project, my Cadette troop and I made a video. It's about liking your self. And liking your selfie. Not like clicking a thumbs-up button. Actually liking it from the heart. Here is the link to the video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4T38XNlgmgg
We're at 36 views and 6 likes!!! (And this time I mean likes as in pressing the thumbs-up button.) PLEASE share and watch this video, I will never ask for anything from you ever again. Please?????
No waking up at 6:00 in the morning for yesterday's comp...instead we woke up at 7:00! :P Anyway, Kathy, my teammates, and I were able to check into isolation with no problems--it's where you go before you start climbing (they're VERY strict about you being able to see the climbs before you start). Despite being called isolation, it is not very isolated because ALL THE COMPETITORS ARE IN THERE. It is somewhat loud, and a little bit boring if you are the last person from your team to leave isolation and climb. (I had to do that >:P) I eventually started climbing at 11:44 exactly. I was escorted to the first climb, which had jugs at the bottom, semi-positive slopers in the middle and near the top, with the exception of a big jug that was used to get over the roof. I had to mantle on most of the slopers--it was fun. I finished it
On the second climb, I was told to start climbing--before the clock had started ticking! So they made me come down, which threw me off just a little. This climb had really bad crimps and bad slopers. I didn't finish, but I got 16.5 points.
The third climb looked like it would be cool--positive pinches, big volumes, what's not to like?--but I didn't get to the point where I could use the volumes. I fell getting over trying to get over the roof, and earned 13.5 points. In the end, I placed tenth (out of twenty!), which wasn't good enough to get me to Divisionals, but a BIG improvement from last Regionals. And, you know, I was happy with my performance and stuff. Plus, I was one of only ten girls to finish a climb! So...yup! Adios!--Taryn
I've just found out that my family will be taking a not-quite-week long trip to California this summer!!! We'll fly out to San Francisco, and take a road trip to Monterey. I am so excited! Maybe we can even tour the Jelly Belly factory!!! Maybe we can go climbing!!! I cannot wait!!! Sorry about all the extra exclamation points!!!
